Abstract

A discussion of wiki use and potential use in various fields and as part of various popular tools. Aspects of the current wiki concept with broad impact; specific tasks that wikis do not seem good for (case studies). Impliations from sociology and visions of a collaboratively different future. Comparisons with other methods of collaboration, with a firm grip on what defines wiki, and what has led to its emergence as a meme. (Jumping-off points from existing debates online and in published papers. Moderator to be selected; a well-liked figurehead perhaps. Bono? NB: mod research required.)
